Windows Vista seems quite secure

Several users claim Windows Vista is pretty darn secure. The jury’s still out on that, of course, but it’s a good start. I’m still wary after hearing Jim Allchin, Microsoft co-president, claiming Vista needs no anti-virus protection.

What looks quite cool is the BitLocker hard drive encryption functionality built into Vista. BitLocker uses the TPM module, if there is one in your machine. Even without such a module, BitLocker seems well-designed. I’ll need to check it in action pronto.
