The Swedish Watergate scandal

With only 15 days to the Swedish general election, the country lost another part of its innocence as it was discovered the opposition has been hacking the ruling party’s computers for quite some time.

The hacking involved a password identical to a username on a public web endpoint to the internal servers of the ruling party. Secret campaign information as well as police forces-exchanged communiques were hacked.

How mindboggingly insane this level of computer security is!

Yet all I can think of is that, has this been in the US, no doubt would the terrorist label be applied, and the culprits would be swiftly dealt with by the power of the Patriot Act.
