Good API design

I finally got around to watching Joshua Bloch’s engEDU talk from January: How To Design A Good API and Why it Matters.

I followed most of this advice when designing both JOID and TSIK. So I guess there was some method behind my madness. :)

Anyway, the talk have good arguments for teaching (and learning!) better API design. Well worth an hour of your time!

On a related note, you may want to check out http://www.zeroc.com/APIDesign.html

I wasn't aware of Jshua's presentation when I wrote the article. Having seen it since, I found that we agree in those parts where the topics overlap.

Cheers,

Michi.
